We stayed one night and would definitely stay again. All members of the staff were wonderful. The gentleman, Rob, who checked us in, was very friendly and helpful. The cafeteria is way more than a continental breakfast. The food is good and the coffee is hot. When they say "pet-friendly" that is exactly what they mean. Thanks to all at The Michigan Inn and Lodge.

I rented a room here a few months ago when I had to work in the area and what I can say is that, "You Get What You Pay For." It is definitely not as appealing as Hampton Inn or even the Holiday Inn Express and Suites but, for me, it did the job. I had found a deal online and was pleasantly surprised for what I paid for. The location is right off the main road leading into town and if you needed something to eat, there are a bunch of options to choose from, pickup and delivery! The room I had was not horrible; the bed was comfy enough, the pillows were soft, which I love, and the shower was nice. A little dirty like others have said but really, if you want to save some money, this is what you get and is probably the best option in the area!

Only reason for two stars is because of the wide selection of food offered than baseline continental breakfast. Definitely nothing like the pictures on the website. We had noticed a strange smell when we checked in but didn’t think much of it. But then as we were checking the room to leave and make sure we had everything. There was a DIRTY DIAPER under the bed! That is just nasty. Beds were hard and had sand in the sheets. Floors turn your feet black. The shower struggled to drain. The walls are paper thin. Lots of noise expecally early morning and late at night. Overall I do not recommend staying here.

My family and I loved staying here and will continue to come back always. Mostly because it was very kid friendly! Free good food from 6am to 6pm. Cozy warm rooms with 55" TV with apps installed, and connected to their Wi-Fi that is also free for your devices. I fell in love with the beds, not only are they comfortable but they have a massage setting along with head and feet tilt. I hope they pay the managers a great amount for being so hospitable and professional.

My family and I rented three rooms because my husband was having major surgery in Petoskey and we wanted to stay down there with him because we live in the Upper Peninsula. Well the rooms were disgusting. All of the beds in the three rooms had sand in them. The floors were making our socks turn black. The bathroom shower curtain looked nasty on the bottom 8-10 inches of it. The tile trim, and the corners in the bathrooms had nasty dust build up on them. The table was not washed off. It looked like a dog had urinated on the side on the little fridge. The towels were horrible. No tissue in the rooms. I had to buy some cleaning supplies just to clean the rooms so we would stop itching, because we were staying for five days. If I had the money to pack up and go somewhere else I would have. My daughter did report it and even showed the manager our room, but nothing came of it. I noticed the mop that was used to mop the rooms and they were filthy. And the pictures you see online of the rooms are from 2016-17. The rooms do not really look that nice. I can tell you this, I will NEVER stay there again. The beds were comfortable and the food wasn't bad.

I had a really bad experience here at the Michigan Inn & Lodge! The managers and staff will steal your packages that you have delivered clearly stating the room number! Their washing machines and dryers don’t work There will be noise disturbances all night The stairs are falling apart Not a great place to sleep, live, or bring your family too! I lived here in room 224 for about a full month and I needed a package delivered to the hotel, so I asked the manager and the front clerk desk if I can deliver the package to the hotel and they said just tell the sender to add the hotel room number to the package and you can pick it up. And the front desk and we will keep it safe for you. So I went and paid over $400 on fancy sublimated shirts to represent my YouTube channel. So they were delivered and I went to the front desk to get the package and they said they didn’t have it even tho it was delivered 3 days prior. I showed them the delivery confirmation and the picture of the box on their counter, they denied that it was even delivered After 3 other attempts and me trying to have them bring my box out, finally the manager brought the box out that clearly had room 224 written on the front. Where they had opened my package and tried only new expensive shirts! And stuffed them back in the package! There was nothing done in compensation and they did even say sorry, so if you want all your packages ripped open and contents either tried on or stolen this place is for you! Also the washing and dryer machines are not working, the stairs going up stairs are fallen out. Also there will be drunk people smoking up and down the balcony’s making tons of noise around midnight! Not a great place if you want to go to sleep early!

The hotel is nice. Slept good. Features in the rooms they don't tell you are that the beds are remote and will give message you pick settings and intensity plus it has a inclined feature and a no snore feature as well. Internet was crummy while we stayed only due to the storm. Breakfast was awesome, and the breakfast room was nice and warm. Staff was helpful and polite, and it was an easy check-in and out. I would stay here again for sure.
